Export/Freight Frowarding Services
This activity of Myanmar Frangipani Travels and Tours Co., Ltd. Is connected with the Tourism industry. It undertakes to export products of the Souvenir of Asia Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
Acting as the local representative of the Spirit of Asia charitable group in Germany, we send them, by air and sea, Myanmar handicrafts, lacquer ware, silk scarves, silverware, bronze ware and souvenirs.
Similarly, we export such items to friends to friends and associates in the USA, Italy and Indonesia. We take care of all procedures involving obtaining licenses and permits and documentation to ensure dispatch of the items without delay or difficulty.
The items sent to the Spirit of Asia are sold and the profit is sent back to Myamar in the form of cash donations to the orphanage in Taikkyi.
Orphanage Support Volunteer
U Min Lwin Oo, Managing Director of Myanmar Frangipani Travels and Tours co., Ltd. Is the official Representative of the Verein fur Internationale Solidaritaet e.V. (VIS), Frankfurt, Germany, and of Children Support Initiative (CSI), Honolulu, Hawaii. These two organizations are currently giving financial, educational and other support to orphans ranging in age from 4 to 22, in two orphanages in Mandalay and one in Mawlamyine (Moulmein), Myanmar., with 450 orphans and 750 grammar school students.
The VIS and CSI’s mission is to improve the living and health conditions of the orphans and to offer them better educational opportunities and targeted practical training. The orphanages accept needy children regardless of their religious affiliation of ethnic origin.
The children receive elementary education within the orphanage. Some go on to secondary education in state-run middle, high schools and universities. In addition, the children are given practical training in various fields.
Today some 100 girls and boys are receiving regular instructions with the senior students having progressed to graphics and writing of software programs – a remarkable achievement for children whose hill-tribe parents probably could neither read nor write Burmese. At the PC center the boys and girls also receive English language instructions. English books and types were made available by the German association.
The targeted training and improved education available to the orphans has enabled these orphans to be better equipped to seek jobs whereas lack of these qualifications had previously been a handicap.
For those children not gifted enough to take advantage of the higher educational and computer training available, courses in tailoring for girls and automobile repairing for boys are being planned.
As Representative of VIS and CSI, U Min Lwin Oo regularly visits the orphanage concerned, monitors and controls the progress of the projects and reports back to VIS and CSI. He also accompanies the directors and officers of the two organizations and other visiting donors.
